All About The 90's r&b Game Rules
How to Play: All About The 90's R&B
The Setup
- Prepare: Grab a pen and paper or a digital device to track scores.
- Assign Roles: Select a Game Host (optional) to read the clues.
- Set the Goal: Decide on the number of trivia clues to play for the session.
- Pro Tip: If you own All About The 90's, you can use the included game bell for "First to Call It" gameplay!
Scoring
- Trivia Clue: 5 Points
- Bonus Hit: +5 Points
- Risk Factor: If you answer the Bonus Hit incorrectly, you lose the 5 points earned from the initial Trivia Clue.
Gameplay Options
Option 1: Turn-by-Turn
Players take turns answering clues individually.
- If the active player answers correctly, they earn 5 points and a shot at the Bonus Hit.
- If they miss the Trivia Clue, the next player in the rotation may attempt to answer.
Option 2: First to Call It (Bell Required)
This is a high-energy race to the answer.
- A clue is read, and the first player to ring the bell (or signal) is called on by the Host.
- If correct, they earn 5 points and the Bonus Hit opportunity.
- If incorrect, other players can jump in to steal the points.
Winning the Game
The game ends once you reach the predetermined number of clues. The player with the highest score is crowned the R&B champion!
On My Way To The Spot Game Rules
How to Play: On My Way to the Spot
A memory-based challenge with a strategic twist.
Setup
- Select a Category: Each player draws from the category deck. If you aren't feeling your first choice, you may swap it once.
- Grab Your Power-Ups: Every player starts with one Detour card and one Lookout card.
- Detour Card: Use this for yourself if you get stuck. It allows you to bypass your turn once per game.
- Lookout Card: Use this to help an opponent who is stuck. This card is a one-time assist for someone else.
Gameplay
Choose a starting player. Play follows the alphabet (A–Z):
- Player 1: Says, "On my way to the spot, I picked up [Item starting with 'A' from their category]."
- Next Player: Must repeat the previous item(s) in order, then add an item from their own category starting with the next letter of the alphabet.
- The Goal: Continue until you reach "Z" or only one person is left standing. The winner is the player who successfully remembers the entire list.
The Penalties
A player must face a penalty if they:
- Forget to say the phrase "On my way to the spot."
- Forget an item or get the order wrong.
- Fail to provide an item for the correct letter or category.
- Take too long (groups should agree on a time limit beforehand).
- Cheat in any way.
Play Your Way
While this is designed as a high-stakes challenge, penalties are customizable! Instead of traditional forfeits, try:
- The "Yuck" Mix: A shot of an unappetizing food mixture.
- Heat Challenge: A drop of hot sauce.
- Mystery Beans: Jelly beans with gross flavors.
